It seems that having unwanted hair wasn’t enough. When you shave, wax, or epilate you may have ingrown hair. Those hair are growing sideways into the skin or curl back down and grow into our skin instead of growing up. Sometimes those little demons can be painful and they lead to irritation around them. Some of us are suffering from ingrown hair but I am here to show you how to get rid of them.

How to get rid of ingrown hair at home
Squeeze Method
You need:
Antiseptic gel
Cotton ball
Pure alcohol (99%)
Tea tree oil
Pointed tweezers – optional
Instructions: Clean your hands with an antiseptic gel; or soap. Apply with a cotton ball a pure alcohol (99%) on the problematic areas. Try to squeeze – gently – the ingrown hair with your fingers, if the hair doesn’t come off easily, no worries, try with pointed tweezers or continue with the other home remedies/hacks. At the end apply tea tree oil on the problematic areas to cool it down and prevent the inflammation.

Steam Method
You need:
Tea tree oil
Instructions: Shower with lukewarm to hot water (not too hot) in order to open hair follicles/ pores and try to squeeze it a little bit with your fingers. At the end apply tea tree oil on the problematic areas to cool it down and prevent the inflammation.

No.1 Scrub
You need:
Coconut oil
Epsom salts
Instructions: Use equal ratio of coconut oil and Epsom salts. The combination of them will not only make your skin to absorb faster the magnesium that Epsom Salt has, but they will also help the ingrown hairs to come off.
Nutmeg Scrub
You need:
Baking soda
Organic Honey
Nutmeg powder
Instructions: Apply it to your skin with circular moves. This amazing combination will decrease the inflammation while it will remove the dead skin. You will end having a smooth skin without any hair facing back to the skin.

Baking Soda Scrub
You need:
Baking soda
Organic Coconut oil
Water
Instructions: Mix all the ingredients together until you will have a nice thick smooth paste and apply it with circular moves for 5-10’ and leave the mixture on your skin for another 10’ and wash it with lukewarm water.
Exfoliation Scrub Soap by Fos Cosmetics
You need:
Exfoliation Scrub with chia seeds
Instructions: While you are having a steam shower, use the exfoliation scrub on the problematic areas. This soap will make your skin to be softer and it will remove the dead skin cells as well as the ingrown hair.
** Note that for all exfoliations, you may need to repeat the method.
